He became internationally known for promoting the mix of blues…country…and rhythm and blues music on the radio in the United States and Europe under the name of “rock and roll”…

Freed also promoted dances and concerts featuring the music he was playing on the radio...!

DJ Alan Freed quits New York radio station WINS claiming they refused to "stand by my policies and principles"…
