Singing in the rain!

A building that plays music whenever the heavens open becomes tourist attraction…

Welcome to Dresden, Germany where we have this peculiar building and a unique look…

The three tenants of the building have installed rain gutters in such a way...

The gutters play music when it rains…

The house is located in Neustadt Kunsthofpassage…

an area of Dresden part of an arts project called the Courtyard of Elements…

This singing wall has tourists braving stormy weather to listen to its music…

Composed only when skies are grey…

An intricate system of drains and funnels are attached on the outside of this colourful house in Germany...

when it rains the entire building becomes an instrument…

The building is known as ‘Courtyard of Elements’ and is a part of Kunsthofpassage series of courtyards which is the brain child of tenants of apartment buildings on which these artworks are being installed…

This particular artwork comes from sculptor Annette Paul and designers Christoph Rossner and Andre Tempel…

The idea was inspired by the Rube Goldberg Machine which converts the mere average rainfall sound into a symphony which comes right from the Orchestra…!

Take a listen below...
