On August 20th of 1969

The four members of the Beatles

gathered at Abbey Road Studios in London

for the last time

They completed work on I Want You (She's So Heavy)

and ostensibly finalize the track order

and mastering of their last recorded album Abbey Road

I Want You (She's So Heavy)

is a song by the Beatles written by John Lennon

It closes side one on the Beatles' 1969 album Abbey Road

I Want You (She's So Heavy)"

is an unusual Beatles composition for a variety of reasons

- Its length of nearly eight minutes

- There are very few lyrics

- The title makes up most of the lyrics aside from two more phrases

- Only 14 different words are sung

- A three-minute descent through repeated guitar chords are played

- A similar arpegiated figure appears                                                               in another Lennon contribution to the album "Because"

-  An abrupt ending

I Want You (She's So Heavy) was the first song recorded

for the Abbey Road album

It is the last song

that the Beatles mixed as a group on August 20th of 1969
