Thirty-Seven year old Bobby Darin 

died on December 20th of 1973

during surgery to repair a heart valve

that had been implanted two years earlier

American singer-songwriter


and actor in film and television

performed jazz, pop, rock and roll, folk, swing,

and country music

Bobby’s career started in 1958 with "Splish Splash"

and continued strong into the early sixties

Darin was pushed off the charts by the British Invasion

but had a comeback in 1966 with "If I Were a Carpenter
