the official opening of Electric Lady Studios

in New York City ~ New York on August 26th in 1970

Nicknamed 'Electric Ladyland'

Electric Lady Studios is a recording studio 

in Greenwich Village ~ New York City

built by Jimi Hendrix and designed by John Storyk in 1970

Jimi Hendrix spent only ten weeks recording in Electric Lady before his death 

but it has since been used by many notable artists
